I love Bill Callahan, I do, ever since I heard him the first time when
he was still recording under the name Smog with crappy recording gear
and badly-tuned guitars played badly. Distinctive voice, dry delivery,
dark irony, what's not to love? This is a fairly recent record, a live
recording, and he's come a long way. There's a whole band there now,
he's more secure in his delivery, but there is still that core sound I fell for years ago.
